If you are a fast reader and are comfortable with science content that includes interpreting data found in graphs and charts, you should strongly consider taking the ACT. Both the SAT and ACT contain grammar, math and reading. The two biggest differences between the tests is that the ACT contains a science test and that it requires a great deal of fast reading. If you are comfortable with science and don’t have a particular problem reading fast with high comprehension, the ACT may be the better option. If, however, science and data give you hives and/or you are not a particularly fast reader, take the safe road by taking the old SAT. In either case, you still have the option of taking the New SAT on March 5th and beyond. Also, remember that you ALWAYS control your scores. In other words, you decide which scores colleges will see.
